Wellington-born Dean Wareham and wife Britta Phillips, both former members of dream pop/indie group Luna, deliver this effortlessly sophisticated live musical performance to 13 of Andy Warhol's famous screen tests.
Captured at Warhol's Silver Factory back in the 1960s, the silent, black and white screen tests include the likes of uber-cool superstars and notorious scenesters Edie Sedgwick, Dennis Hopper and vocalist Nico. A smouldering Lou Reed also makes an appearance - casually sipping a Coke in a laidback tribute to Warhol's pop art ideals.
The screen tests are projected overhead as Dean, Britta and band perform mostly live new music to each four-minute film segment. The exceptions are some deliciously vintage covers of Bob Dylan and The Velvet Underground, perfectly suited to the whimsical, 60s-infused sound of the chic ensemble. Warhol's unmatchable style and unique art has been rejuvenated in this rocking live art experience from these stylish ‘genre-shapers'. Don't miss it.

13 Most Beautiful begins with electronica wafting out of the speakers before the face of Richard Rheem appears on the screen above the stage. And it looks like a still photo until, some time in to the film, we see a blink followed by a flurry of camera movement and focus pulling. Towards the end of the film Dean, Britta and band wander on stage, beneath the screen, and start playing.

Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips are husband and wife and band mates, now perfroming as Dean&Britta; previously they were in the indie pop band Luna. Here, augmented by Matt Sumrow (keyboards, guitars) and Lee Waters (drums, bass, guitar, samples), they perform live soundtracks to 13 of Andy Warhol's screen tests in a show that is part art installation, part rock concert.
